DORE UNDER EYE INDEX™
Everyone has different concerns for their under eyes.
The area under the eyes is the first part of the face to reveal one's age. The under-eye skin is thin and there are various factors like fat, ligaments, and bones change together. Therfore, it is difficult to identify the cause of "dark circles" with one factor only.
At DORÉ Clinic, we divide under-eye aging into four stages and propose treatments tailored to each cause.
① Reduced skin elasticity type
"This is the stage where you start to look tired."
From the mid-30s, collagen in the skin gradually decreases.
The skin under the eyes is naturally the thinnest skin on the face. As it becomes thinner, fine wrinkles are formed, and the blood vessels and muscles beneath the skin show through, making dark circles look clearer.
At this stage, the fat hasn't bulged out under your eyes yet, but
"you will look more tired than before."
"and even with makeup on, there might be no vitality.”
There are many cases where you get that feeling.
Making the skin itself healthy is the most important thing at this point.
Typically,
- collagen regeneration through RF lifting like Eye Thermage FLX
- and improving skin thickness and elasticity with skin boosters such as Rejuran I and Re2O Fine
are key treatments for skin tightening.
② Volume type
This is the stage where under-eye fat begins to bulge forward.
It is the most common type among Asians.
As your skin loses elasticity, the structures holding back under-eye fat also weaken.
Then, the fat that should originally be on the inside is pushed forward,
Puffiness forms under the eyes, and shadows appear underneath, making it look even more like dark circles.
In this case, simply improving the skin is not enough.
Recommended treatments for this case are
- Eye Ultherapy (for under-eye fat)
- and blepharoplasty.
However, removing the fat alone will not give out long-lasting result.
The most important thing is to restore skin elasticity so that the fat does not slide forward again.
Therefore, it is highly recommended to perform the treatments recommended for the first type as well.
③ Highlighted ligament type
"This type of people have deep tear troughs since birth."
People with strong retaining ligaments that form the tear trough.
It is especially often seen among Westerners.
The difference in height between the upper and lower parts based on the retaining ligament creates deep tear troughs, giving the impression of looking more tired and older.
In this case,
- filler
- and volume Skin Booster
will help naturally filling the sunken areas.
However, even for this type, skin elasticity is really important.
Healthy skin ensures long-lasting and natural results.
Therefore, it is most ideal to perform recommended treatments for the first type as well.
④ Changing face shape type
"This is the case where aging extends to the bones around the eyes."
It is not just your skin that ages as you get aged.
The bones around the eyes (orbital bones) also gradually move backward.
Then the space for your eyeballs also become larger and
your eyes eventually appear sunken inward,
giving the impression that the eyes look smaller than before.
At this stage, only treating the skin or fat is not enough.
Volume correction by naturally restoring the orbital bone is neccessary.
If you reinforce the area around the orbit using appropriate fillers,
- you eyes will look clearer and
- the mid-face will come more solid.
- You can expect an effect that makes your entire face look younger.

The most important principle considered by DORÉ Clinic
Under-eye aging is not caused by a single factor.
The current under-eye area is a result of changes in skin, fat, ligaments, and bones over time.
Therefore, the most important aspect of under-eye treatment is not simply removing fat or injecting fillers, but accurately diagnosing the current stage of the condition.
DORÉ Clinic systematically analyzes the causes of under-eye aging through the DORÉ UNDER EYE INDEX and proposes customized treatments for each stage.
